Lindsay Event Center Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Completion of Community Facility Project
Community leaders, project partners, and residents gathered on Thursday, January 8, 2026, to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of the Lindsay Event Center, marking the completion of a multi-phase community facility project designed to serve Lindsay and the surrounding region.
The ribbon cutting represented more than the opening of a new venue. It marked the realization of a long-term vision led by Lindsay Area Development to create a connected, flexible facility that brings together wellness, education, athletics, and community events under one roof.
A Multi-Phase Vision Comes Together
The initial phase of the project was completed in September 2025 and included the Bank of Lindsay Wellness Center, FCA Lindsay Fitness Center, and Lindsay Public Library. Each space was intentionally designed to function through a shared-use model, maximizing flexibility and accessibility for the community.
A parallel project, the construction of Lindsay Academy Jr./Sr. High School, was completed in December 2024 and sits adjacent to the Event and Wellness Center. With the completion of the Lindsay Event Center, the full campus vision is now complete, offering a unified, community-centered destination serving both residents and visitors from across the region.
“For many years, our community has discussed the need for a range of facilities, but pursuing individual projects simply wasn’t feasible,” said Aaron Reichmuth, Director and founding member of Lindsay Area Development. “What changed was our ability to design a single, flexible facility that could serve multiple needs. Today, that vision has become a reality, a space designed for the entire region to use and benefit from.”
Designed for Events, Athletics, and Community Life
The Lindsay Event Center is a multifunction, open-concept venue designed to host a wide range of events including weddings, community celebrations, corporate meetings, trade shows, and live performances. The space features:
A theatrical stage with professional lighting and sound
A catering kitchen and bar area with flexible service options
A multipurpose room that can also serve as a private bridal suite or performer prep room
Flexible floor space that easily adapts to different event layouts
In addition to events, the Event Center supports athletic use, converting into one regulation basketball court or two regulation volleyball courts, complete with mobile bleachers and portable scoreboards. When combined with the Bank of Lindsay Wellness Center, the facility expands even further, allowing the campus to host large-scale athletic tournaments and multi-court competitions that draw participants and visitors from across the region.
“Our vision was simple: to bring people together,” said Amber Klassen, President of Lindsay Area Development. “We are already seeing the impact, with families and organizations actively booking the event center. People are coming to town for events, supporting local businesses, housing is expanding, and neighboring communities are choosing Lindsay as a destination. The positive effects of this project will be felt for many years to come.”
Strengthening Community and Regional Connections
Local leaders identified a growing need for indoor event space, expanded wellness amenities, and modern athletic facilities to support both community life and regional activity. Prior to this project, Lindsay lacked the capacity to host larger events and tournaments under one roof.
Today, the completed facility strengthens community connectivity, supports healthy lifestyles, and positions Lindsay as a regional destination for events, athletics, and gatherings of all kinds.
The ribbon cutting celebration included remarks from Lindsay Area Development board members, self-guided tours of the complex, and an opportunity for attendees to see firsthand how the Event Center connects with the Wellness Center and Lindsay Academy.
With construction now complete, the Lindsay Event Center stands as the final piece of a thoughtfully planned campus designed to meet current needs while supporting future growth for Lindsay and surrounding communities.
